! She's been helping me SO SO SO much! And not just encouraging me, which she does A LOT of, but she's also helping me raise funds for the class by helping paint shoes and also selling her own adoptables, which are AMAZING! On top of it all she's super busy with work and college and she's seriously wonderful for being so helpful. She's taken pictures for me! She'd edited pictures for me! She's listened to me think what I'm doing next through annoyingly out loud during lunch! She's just super wonderful <3 THANK YOU DANI!! :0)
Since school has started I've been meeting with my mentor just about every day, and with every meeting we just get more and more excited about this project. We've talked with the principal and he's going to let us use the school's newest lab for the class! He also gave us the name of someone who MAY be willing to help donate some money towards the tablets, though so far we haven't had any word from them...
I realized a bit ago that on top of buying the tablets, I also am going to need to purchase paint tool SAI license agreements as well, which I was really bummed about, because that basically doubled the cost... BUT SAI is worth it!
I talked to a local Best Buy and they're willing to give us %15 off of the tablets because of the bulk and the good cause, lowering the tablet cost to $680 - and my mentor decided to purchase three of the tablets herself, along with 4 of the paint tool SAI license agreements! These cut the loftly $1400 down to a much more doable $900.
At this point, everything is in order, including the art book, which has been officially started!
It's not yet open to uninvited artists, I'm giving those invited a few more days to respond before going ahead and letting others join in, but feel free to watch or just take a peek if you want! All I need to do before the class is ready to go, is get the money! ;0) My mentor and I have already began a list of students that have expressed interest in the class and we think are the best choices.
So here I am working my butt off fundraising (while juggling 4 ap classes wut... orz)!
